Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photo Walk – Join me in Vancouver, WA

Worldwide Photo Walk logoOnce again, Scott Kelby is leading the organization of a Worldwide Photo Walk, the largest social photography event in the world. Last year over 32,000 photographers participated in over 900 photo walks around the world.

This year’s event is July 24th, and I’m excited that I’ll be the leader for a photowalk in the downtown area of Vancouver, Washington. Join me to explore some sights in our area, take some photos, and meet new people. After walking around for a couple hours, we’ll regroup, share some of our work. There’s a photo contest (both locally and worldwide) for photos taken as part of the event, and it should be a lot of fun.

Most of the photo walks fill up, so you’ll want to register soon if you’ll be joining me. Find out more details at our local page on the Worldwide Photo Walk site.

Join Me for a Portland Photowalk on June 3rd

On June 3rd I’ll be leading a photowalk in Portland. The Open Source Bridge conference is happening at the Portland Art Museum, and given the geek/photographer crossover that’s often seen, I decided it would be fun to lead a photowalk.

We’ll be leaving from the Portland Art Museum at 18:00, walking through downtown and possibly ending up down near the waterfront where the Rose Festival carnival should be underway. After walking and shooting for a while, we plan to wrap up at a bar or other venue where we can chat, have a beverage, and talk photography.

I’d love to have you join us. Any further details or updates will be posted on the Open Source Bridge site.

An Informal Portland Photowalk

All Broke Up About ItAt various events and on Twitter, a bunch of folks suggested we get some local geek folks together for a photowalk. We’ll meet just north of the Hawthorne Bridge on the Eastbank Esplanade (just south of the fire station). There’s ample street parking in the area and it’s accessible from several bus lines (4, 6, 10, 14, 33) from the stop on the east side of the bridge.

The plan will depend on the wishes of the group, but I was thinking we’d start with the inner eastside, then walk across the river and shoot a bit downtown.

All levels/abilities of photography skills/experience are welcome. This will be a super-informal event, just walking around, taking some photos, and hopefully learning from each other.

Planning on joining us? RSVP on Upcoming. Have any questions? Leave a comment. Hope to see a bunch of you at the photowalk.
