Getting Abstract and Physical

As we wrap up 2011 and move into the new year, one area I’ll be expanding business is into the realm of fine art, attempting to do some offline sharing of work that has for the most part existed only in electronic form. I have a lot of fun creating abstract photo art, and I think this will be the first area I tackle in seriously offering my work for sale in a tangible form.

Light and water at play

I’m currently evaluating options for what I will offer. Large prints? Canvas? Metal? If you have any specific thoughts about what sort of form you’d be interested in seeing artwork, I’d love to hear from you either with a comment or by sending me an email.

No Rocks Under Stone

Looking west into a covered walkway near the Mosier Twin Tunnels in the Columbia River Gorge

Last weekend I was in the Columbia River Gorge on a family camping trip and we hiked into the Mosier Twin Tunnels. On the west end of the tunnels is this concrete structure designed to prevent any falling rocks from impacting hikers. It was a very moody, grungy-looking place.

Rusticles

We interrupt the usual discussion of my photo services, client photos, or speaking events to bring you something a bit abstract that I created while on vacation a few months back… some barnacles on the rusting shipwrecked Peter Iredale near Hammond, Oregon.

Order a Photo as a Holiday Gift

Here’s a nice sunrise image from last year. It’s one of nine images I’ve chosen to feature in a special gallery of photos available for sale this holiday season. There are a couple abstracts, a couple nature shots, a couple steam trains, and more. View the full gallery using this link.

It seems a common refrain this time of year is wondering what to get the person “who has everything.” A nice photo (either a standard print, metal print, or canvas) makes a great wall decoration for anyone’s home or office.

To order a photo, check out the gallery and if you see one you like, click the “Buy” button above the photo. You can pick out a size and the photo will be processed by my professional lab and shipped directly to your location.

Want to give a photo as a gift but have the recipient pick out their own photo? I can sell you a gift code so that the recipient can make their own selection. Drop me an email to find out how to do this.

I’d love to have you help support my photography by purchasing a photo either for yourself or as a gift. Thanks!
